What Is the Route PDF?

The route PDF is a professionally designed road trip guide that includes navigation, daily itineraries, and key highlights for your journey.

It acts as your complete trip companion, combining:

  • Driving directions
  • Route structure
  • Key stops and locations

All in one easy-to-follow format.

Core Features of Every Itinerary

  • Route overview and structure: Understand the full journey at a glance
  • Interactive Google Maps Links: Every day of your journey starts with a direct link that loads the route directly into Google Maps with all waypoints pre-set.
  • Daily Distance & Timing: Precise breakdowns of driving hours and mileage to help you pace your journey perfectly.
  • Elevation Profiles: (Full Itinerary only) Essential for mountain pass driving, allowing you to visualise climbs and descents (included in Full Itineraries).
  • Hotel & Lunch Recommendations: (Full Itinerary only) A selection of driver-friendly accommodations and lunch stops vetted for accessibility and quality.

What’s the Difference Between Basic and Full Route Itineraries?

The main difference between the Basic and Full itineraries is the level of detail and planning support provided.

The Basic itinerary includes everything essential for following and enjoying the route, including navigation and core planning guidance.

The Full itinerary offers a more premium, in-depth experience, with additional features such as:

  • Elevation profiles
  • Suggested departure time examples
  • Hotel recommendations
  • Expanded curated points of interest
  • Useful links and supporting information

This makes the Full itinerary ideal for those who want a more structured, detailed, and fully supported road trip experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a special app to use the PDF?

No. You simply need a PDF reader (standard on all smartphones) and the Google Maps app. Tapping the 🚗 icon inside the PDF will automatically launch the navigation.

Is the route data updated for 2026?

Yes. We regularly update our PDFs to reflect mountain pass opening and closing dates.

Can I print the PDF?

Yes. The PDF is formatted for high-quality printing if you prefer a physical backup in your glovebox. However, please note that printed versions do not include turn-by-turn driving directions.
